Parent Guidance

Having children is one of the most
rewarding experiences an adult can have. As a mother, I know that it is also one
of the most frustrating, difficult challenges that most people encounter.
When your child is having difficulties, either with acting out behaviors,
moodiness, depression, anxiety or peer difficulties, it can help to talk with a
psychologist about how you are handling the situation. I can teach you new
strategies for helping your child through a difficult time. Parent guidance
sessions are usually combined with play, individual, and/or family therapy
sessions in order to maximize the benefits of treatment.
Parent guidance sessions may be helpful for parents who . . .
are having difficulty redirecting or correcting inappropriate behavior in their
child
want to learn how to help their child deal more effectively with stress
want to help an older child adjust to the birth or adoption of a sibling
are concerned that their child is having difficulty with peers
