Family Therapy

In family therapy the set of
relationships among family members is the focus of treatment. In family therapy
I can help you recognize how these relationships are related to the current
difficulties experienced by one or more family members and work together to
improve these relationships. In family therapy, the goal is not to assign blame.
Rather, the goal is to develop new ways of interacting with one another that
promote healthy, loving relationships.
Family therapy sessions are often combined with individual, couples, and play
therapy sessions.
Family therapy may be beneficial for families who . . .
are struggling with divorce or
remarriage
have recently experienced a stressful
event, such as a move or new job
have recently experienced the death
or loss of a loved one
are struggling with the effects of
alcoholism or drug abuse
are having difficulty adjusting to
the birth of a sibling
are experiencing conflict that they
don't feel they can handle on their own
